MAD MAX

Mad Max is an upcoming post-apocalyptic third-person open-world vehicular combat video game based on the film series Mad Max, being published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Avalanche Studios. It is slated for release on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in 2014. Mel Gibson, who played the role in the movies, will not reprise the role of Max. Officially revealed at E3 2013 on June 10 during a Sony press conference, not much is currently known about the game other than it will focus on vehicular combat and emphasize the customization of the player's vehicle(s).
Game designer Cory Barlog was reportedly involved with the game's development.

Plot

In Mad Max, the player's character, Max, must traverse a barren desert wasteland in search for his lost treasured vehicle, the Pursuit Special (also referred to as The Interceptor).

Controversy

There have been written previews from gaming journalist who were invited to see a private gameplay demonstration at E3 2013 and noticed during the demonstration that Max is portrayed with an American accent, rather than an Australian one as heard in the film series. Many fans including Australians have protested against Max's new American voice. However, it was later confirmed that the lead character would have an Australian accent and not an American as one originally reported and shown. Avalanche Studios responded to the controversy on July 3, 2013 with the announcement that Max would be portrayed with an Australian accent instead.
